FE colleges have changed hugely since 'incorporation' in 1992/3. Most are in fact significant multi-million pound businesses in their own right.
Whilst education and training provision is rightly at the core of what FE colleges do, KFE's colleges are all prime examples of multi-facetted organisations. Within each of our colleges there's a wide range of services and operations that have been established and developed to support our local-communities and businesses, whilst often making college life better and more accessible for our students and staff too.
The KFE Services page provides links to services delivered by each of our colleges. Some operate as separate businesses and others are linked ventures. In all cases they provide opportunities for student engagement and often employment with many also open to local communities.

KFE Projects
The three Kent college groups work closely together to present a strong, coordinated offer to government, funding bodies and industry partners. By aligning their priorities, sharing intelligence on skills needs and speaking with a single voice, the colleges are able to make a compelling case for inward investment into Kent. This collaborative approach ensures that funding is targeted where it will have the greatest impact, supporting employers, learners and the wider regional economy, rather than duplicating provision or competing for the same resources.
Through this partnership, the colleges have successfully attracted several million pounds of investment into Kent via Strategic Development Funds rounds 1 and 2, alongside significant support from the Local Skills Improvement Fund. These investments have enabled major upgrades to facilities, the introduction of industry-standard equipment, and the development of new training aligned to priority sectors. By working together at scale, the college groups have strengthened Kent’s skills infrastructure, helping businesses access the talent they need and ensuring learners are equipped with the skills required for high-quality jobs across the county.
More information on specific projects will appear here soon.
