FE colleges have changed hugely since 'incorporation' in 1992/3. Most are in fact significant multi-million pound businesses in their own right.
Whilst education and training provision is rightly at the core of what FE colleges do, KFE's colleges are all prime examples of multi-facetted organisations. Within each of our colleges there's a wide range of services and operations that have been established and developed to support our local-communities and businesses, whilst often making college life better and more accessible for our students and staff too.
The KFE Services page provides links to services delivered by each of our colleges. Some operate as separate businesses and others are linked ventures. In all cases they provide opportunities for student engagement and often employment with many also open to local communities.

About The Event
KFE TLAC23 - Registration from 4th January 2023 (Closes noon, 30th January 2023)
TLAC23 is open to KFE, FEDEC and FE Sussex partner college staff for the first time and provides an exciting range of thematic strands and workshop opportunities, which KFE hopes will prove relevent and engaging to staff across all our partner organisations and college campuses. The 2023 online event will kick off with conference introductions followed by a guest keynote and various supporting workshop sessions.
TLAC23 provisional guests and worshops sessions are set out below, but please check against the pre-event programme that will be available on the KFE Event Page in early January, which will include the individual planned session times. The list below is expected to expand.
It is possible to register and book sessions via our on-line registration tool from 4th January! Please ensure you complete all fields accurately including your accurate email address.
Note: some sessions are intended for college Governors and Clerks and will be noted as such.
We recommend you login to the REMO platform using the details you will be sent before the event to get familiar with it. This will ensure you get the most out of the day, can interact with colleagues, engage in discussions and network in breaks! Find out more about REMO in advance at: https://remo.co/guided-tours/
Remo provides three conference hall spaces. On arrival from 8:45am you will join the main hall (Hall A). The opening addresses and keynote will take place here from approximately 9am. Individual sessions will then follow from 10am. You will be able remain in the main hall A, or move hall B or C depending on which sessions you decide to move to.
A1 - Ewart Keep
B1 - Richard Beynon - Ofsted HMI (Governors' Session)
A2 - Matt Bromley - TLA pedagogy session
C1 - Teresa Frith - AoC Apprenticeships / Technical Skills
B2 - Gemma Baker - AoC FE Developments
A3 - Education and Training Foundation
C2 - City & Guilds
B3 - NHS Kent and Medway
Workshop Sessions: You will be able to select the range of workshop options as detailed in the programme and on the registration portal. Note some run coterminus with other sessions. Remo has a large guest capacity, but in the unlikley event of over-subsription, KFE reserves the right to apply allocations on a first come first served basis. Where possible second choices will be applied.
For 2023 due to the virtual format the emphasis is on information giving, however, we have worked with our session hosts to ensure that they are still in-depth enough and interactive where possible, to be beneficial for your CPD and engaging in terms of delivery.
Note this is a free conference for KFE, FEDEC and FE Sussex partnership college staff and invited guests only. All registrations will be verified before event joining information is confirmed to delegates.
